Apple sold 1 million iPad on its launch date. And 12 million apps and 1.5 million eBooks apps have been so far downloaded by buff iPhone users. In less than 60 days since its launch on 3rd April, 2010, Apple has sold 2 million iPads. Now it is available in 9 more counties across the globe.
This is iPad’s statistics shown by Apple. On the other side the analysts say that Apple is selling in excess of 200,000 iPads each week in the U.S. And it is just half of Macs estimation that sells 110,000 Mac each week. So it is almost twice as fast as Macs at a 2:1 ratio.
Now can we say iPad is outselling Macs? If we come across the Apple’s sales report, we would find that Apple has been selling around 246,000 units of latest version of iPhone with 3GS per week in Q1 2010. And iPad is just behind the iPhone 3Gs in terms of sales.
And analysts’ predict that Apple would sell around 8 million iPad by the end of 2010. What does this statistics conclude at all? Where does Mac stand? Won’t Mac boost Apple’s less mobile offerings? If not, then iPad will definitely step-up in sales.
