Galaxy S4 has always been the best of the business phones and the latest one in Galaxy S series, the Galaxy S5 also confirms the same because more and more people are adopting it for their day-to-day business needs. But, does it compare to Apple’s iPhone 5s too? The sizes and core operating systems of both smartphones are different. Galaxy S5 is running on Android’s latest OS Kitkat while iPhone 5s is powered by Apple’s iOS 7. But both of these devices have the best of the features that are processed by powerful chips and high resolutions displays lighted-up by long battery life. Samsung’s latest 5S smartphone now also comes with fingerprint readers, which is an additional security feature, particularly for businesspersons.
Let us compare both of these devices for following features, particularly for business use:
iPhone 5S has a 4-ince display which appears rather smaller for most of the business tasks such as sending mails, writing docs and inputting information in the phone. On the other hand, Galaxy S5 has much larger display of 5.1-inch which gives enough room for most of the tasks. You can easily reply to mails, view docs and even edit spreadsheets in a 5.1-ince display.
Galaxy S5 has plastic body but it’s first ever phone in Galaxy S range to have water resistance, as said by Samsung. You can buy this phone with up to 32GB of internal storage and also, it has expandable microSD card slot to expand more storage. Battery back-up has also improved; now in single recharge, battery can keep phone alive for 9 hours and 40 minutes with nonstop use. iPhone 5s has metal body, gives more premium feel in comparison of Galaxy’s plastic body. But it comes only with internal memory which ranges from 16GB to 64GB. No external memory slot is provided. The 5s is about 70 minutes of battery back-up behind in the comparison of Galaxy S5. In single recharge, it offers only 8.5-hour of battery life with a nonstop use.
Galaxy S5 has a quad core processor which is the latest type of processing chip available on the market. With this processor, the S5 turns out to be one of the fastest smarphones. This is a perfect phone for those businesses-users who want to do multitasking without lagging behind at any place. 2GB of RAM also offers enough space to run several apps at a time. But iPhone 5s has half of the processing power of Galaxy S5. It just has dual-core Apple A7 processer with 1GB of RAM.
Multitask-computing is the major requirement of a businessperson. It’s easy to multitask in Galaxy S5. Consider it the major feature of an Android phone. This phone lets users run two apps simultaneously in split screen. But same thing lacks in iPhone. You can run only one app at once in iPhone 5s.
Both phones now have fingerprint readers which help you quickly open your phone without sliding on screen, drawing patterns, putting a PIN or password.
When it comes to apps, there are more than 1 million apps for both platforms. Earlier, mobile application developers around the world were ignoring Android because of issues like fragmentation, malware attack, security, etc. But now Google too has solved all these issues. Today, mobile app development firms consider both platforms when it comes to building an app.
Finally, both Galaxy S5 and iPhone 5s have best of the features to be used by businessperson. If businesspersons need a large-screen phone, and want to replace it with desktop level computing requirements, Galaxy S5 is the recommended phone. Also, they can customize the S5 the way they want. But, it’s not possible to customize iPhone 5s. Also, it has smaller screen which doesn’t give enough room to manage all things. If you want to use iPhone for business, you can do it but you can hardly replay professional mails, edit docs and spreadsheets in this phone.
